Has there been a resolution of some kind to the heating and fan issues? My fans only get to 2000rpm, as I've read elsewhere. I have isolated every single thing I can possibly think of, and, having sent off more data to Engineering last week, am back on the waiting game again - been over two months with this issue now, so I wouldn't expect a speedy response. All three exhibit the 'Faulty SMC' symptoms.

You can be sure that one of the first things I did was to restore my MBP to factory status - I have a separate hard drive with a clean install of Leopard 10.5, another with 10.5.6, and my general drive I use day to day. I constantly need to check my cpu temp, and change the fan speed manually using smcFanControl.

My macbook pro reaches up to 85 degrees C, and my fan speed still stays at 2000rpm. My fan speed does not change automatically. While the ideal solution or fix would obviously come from Apple directly, here is what I did to combat overheating. And by the way: please fix the flicker and blink-ISSUE!! THX!!! As im using Handbrake, my MBP's CPU burns into 110 Degrees Celsius and the Fans are running about 2K RPM. I've the same problem here with my MBP 2,53. The fans are there for all of the system. I hope Apple would fix this very soon as many people are irritated of seeing their CPU's temperature climbing up to 110 degrees celcius, well beyong the maximum operating temperature of the T9400 and the T9600).Īlso, just a point of concern, as the fans are not speeding up, EVERY component in the MBP is not getting cooled down, if the CPU rises to extreme temperatures, than the GPU, memory controller, RAM etc are all suffering from the intense heat as they share similar heatsinks and they are placed near each other.
